  • Liz VanDiepenbos

Liz boasts a distinguished career spanning over 25 years in the realm of Human Resources, holding key roles such as Talent Acquisition Specialist, Recruiter, Staffing and Retention Coordinator, and Sourcing Specialist. She holds a Bachelor of Administration and Management degree from LaRoche University in Pittsburgh, PA.

During her tenure of over 18 years at Trinity Health and its affiliated entities, Liz played a pivotal role in the expansion and enhancement of local HR sourcing teams across West Michigan, along with the establishment of additional teams across Michigan, Florida, and Georgia. In October of 2019, she was handpicked to spearhead the development of sourcing teams tasked with supporting Trinity Health's new nursing travel division, First Choice.

With Trinity Health's extensive network encompassing over 90 hospitals in 22 states, Liz meticulously devised a strategic blueprint by collaborating with existing teams at their respective facilities. Her expertise was instrumental in formulating a streamlined process to secure the necessary nursing staff, replacing costly external vendor travelers that had previously incurred substantial annual expenses for Trinity Health.

The challenge escalated in January of 2020 with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The timeline for launching First Choice at all 90 hospitals was drastically reduced from 28 months to just 8 months. This undertaking appeared formidable and unparalleled: establishing a new virtual process across numerous locations, orchestrating teams she had yet to meet, engaging nurses, and persuading them to embark on travel assignments during a global pandemic when most of the workforce remained confined at home, amid alarming news reports of overwhelmed and chaotic hospitals. Nevertheless, Liz's remarkable achievements facilitated Trinity Health in hiring more than 2,000 nurses within the first two years of First Choice's inception. This accomplishment was a collaborative effort, and Liz found immense satisfaction in every aspect of the endeavor.

If Liz could successfully navigate the intricate challenges of a healthcare system operating around the clock, with timelines and hiring processes dramatically condensed, all while confronting the unprecedented backdrop of a global pandemic, she unquestionably possesses the expertise to impart valuable insights and strategies to enable your teams to secure the essential talent your organization requires.
